Scarf Exchange

I participated in International Scarf Exchange 6. It was my first internet exchange. You sign up and fill out a questionnaire. Then you're assigned a pal to knit/crochet/weave a scarf for and someone is given your name. Your identity is kept a secret, so that the final gift(s) are a total surprise. I still didn't blog the scarf as I knitted it, but I probably could have without giving it away.

I received my package from my pal Cecily today. Here's what she sent me:

It's the Palindrome scarf knit in Malabrigo...lovely shades of blue...which I just love! The scarf is very soft and cushy. I've considered making this scarf a few times, but always opted for something else. I do love cables though and now that I have gotten to see up close and touch the scarf, it's going in my queue!

It came with great gifts...Tazo Organic Chai Tea, Viennese Chocolate Cafe drink mix, french milled Almond soap, a bar of dark chocolate and some Lindt Raspberry Truffles!

I didn't get a photo of the full package that I sent to my pal, but here's the scarf and bracelet that I made for Kimber:

It's "Falling Leaves" by Robin, knit in 100% Superwash Merino Wool hand-dyed by Pagewood Farms. The color is "Bubblegum" in various shades of pink. I bought this yarn from Stash in Berkeley, CA during my vacation.

And this is the bracelet I made to match the scarf:

I bought the pink faceted crystal beads at a small bead shop in Berkeley, CA. The greens are more pastel than they show here, I had trouble taking a picture of my own wrist.

I did include a variety of japanese candy, a japanese coin purse, and a sheep key ring. I didn't realize until I had almost everything wrapped that I hadn't taken a photo of the whole package. Oh, well.

I really enjoyed the exchange. And while I do have many scarves, I must say that I can't wait for ISE7!
