I also finished the Forest Canopy Shawl by Susan Pierce Lawrence.
I have other project on the needles, but unfortunately, they're a secret so I can't show you anything yet. I'll try to get some things on the needles that I can show off soon.
Millennicon went well and I think I'm finally recovered. Everyone seemed to have a good time and I heard lots of compliments from our members. Here's a few pictures from last weekend:
My nephew Grant was being a little camera-shy all weekend, but did allow a few pictures taken. Isn't he adorable? He was Harry Potter, of course, for the Masquerade. He tried to open his prize quickly to get to the chocolate inside, but my sister showed up before he could sneak any. So the chocolate had to wait til the next day.
Kit and Josef of Dalmation Alley did our costuming panels and were among our Masquerade judges again this year. They do great work, please check out their website.
I have one of their dresses. It's gorgeous, in black and silver. I loved this one that she wore at the con.
We had a great Masquerade this year. I think it was the best we've had in the last couple of years. I didn't get photos of all the contestants, but here is the winner of the Mask Award for Best in Show...it's Captain Jack Sparrow:
He was wonderful. Not only did he dress the part, but he was in full character for the evening.
So it was a great time! Can't wait for next year's con.

It looks like you had a great time at Millennicon! You can't ever argue with a dress up venue ;)
I am SO proud of you on your sock and your shawl. With socks I learned to pick up as many stitches as you need to on either side (including 2 where your gusset hole is) and then just count and decrease randomly on the next round to get the 2 sides an even number...does that make sense?
Don't worry about your gusset holes. You can weave yarn in them later LOL
And I love your shawl! You did a super job on it!!
Congratulations on knitting your first sock! It looks fabulous.
