The fun just doesn't end around here

I had a fun, busy, and productive day! I could use a lot more days like today.

In the early morning hours, as in I hadn't yet gone to bed from Saturday night, I put the finishing touches on Julius' hat. He's been waiting patiently for his new winter hat made from the leftover yarn from the scarf I made him last year. And here he is modeling the much awaited hat:

The pattern is Skip from Hip Knit Hats, except I put in some stripes. The yarn is Red Heart Soft Yarn in Tangerine and Bernat Satin in Bordeaux and Sunrise. These were the colors he had requested and they go together beautifully. The hat is a success - he wore it out today and it kept him warm!

I did some gift shopping for next week, as we'll celebrate my sister and my BIL's birthdays next week at our family Thanksgiving dinner. I managed to get half the grocery shopping done today. I'll do the rest tomorrow. I finished up lots of errands.

Bowling went well. We were in 26th place after last week's one point win (out of four points). We won two points this week. I'm hoping this means we'll move up another slot. I had one really great game of 156!!! That brings my average up to 118! The team we played was a lot of fun and I even managed to knit about 5 inches to the new scarf I started on Thursday.

Tonight was the monthly meeting for my international book and dining club. I had chosen this month's book - "This Earth of Mankind" by Pramoedya Ananta Toer and the restaurant was A Taste of Bali. Good book and great food. We celebrated the one year anniversary of the club. I even managed to win the trivia contest (matched 7 out of 12 quotes to the correct book) and got a Starbucks gift card!

What can I say, the fun just doesn't end around here!
